How to play ocarina correctly?
To play an ocarina with a clean sound, it’s important to blow correctly. If you blow steadily, the ocarina will produce sound. If the sound is clear, that’s great. But if it sounds weak or makes a high-pitched screech, you’re likely blowing either too softly or too hard. The pressure you use affects the sound, and higher notes require more air pressure.
Interestingly, you can play the same note with different fingerings by adjusting your breath. For example:
●You can play the note ‘A’ by using the ‘A’ fingering with normal breath pressure.
●You can also play the same ‘A’ by using the ‘G’ fingering and blowing much harder.
So, the note you are fingering isn’t always the note you get; It depends on how hard you blow. Practicing breath control is key to playing the ocarina well.
